Journey
The first book in the series, Journey tells the story of the first generation of the Caerwyn family. The story tells how the family came to Caerwyn and established themselves there.
Corin and Eira are young and in love, betrothed at an early age they have a bright future. The arrival of the “iron men” from abroad changes everything. Sold into slavery they learn that loyalty and bravery has it’s rewards. Follow the story of these two young people as they become adults who are capable of taking on a changing world.
Characters
Corin
The patriarch of the family, Corin grew up watching sheep. As he became a man, he was trained to fight to protect the village. Corin was fierce warrior and loyal to a fault, Corin fought to protect his love at all cost. His loyalty was rewarded as he was given more and more responsibility in the household where he was kept as a slave for many years.
Eira
Being a woman in the first century was not easy. Eira learned early how to get things to go her way. Even as a slave in a Roman household, Eira learned that doing her duty give her a certain amount of freedom. A fierce protector of those she cared for, Eira stands as a strong matriarchal figure for the family.
Drusilla
A Roman born into a privileged lifestyle, Drusilla was given a slave to watch over her at an early age. Being wealthy did not protect her from danger. When her life was threatened, her life took a new direction. She learned how to be a good person, and that hard work earned you respect.
